Letter Perfect Plaids

What is a plaid?
Plaid is a product of the weaving process. The plaid pattern is made using dyed threads
in planned repeats of stripes, woven over and under (weft) perpendicular to the threads
in the same or another planned repeat of threads (warp). This criss-crossing of vertical
and horizontal bands of colored threads forms a plaid pattern of squares and lines.
