Chinese Lattice Blackwork

Blackwork embroidery is a decorative embroidery originally used on clothing instead of lace.  It was
stitched with black thread in a double running stitch to create repeated patterns that looked the same
on both sides of the fabric.  Today, Blackwork has evolved as a stitching artform and can include
a variety of different stitching techniques with a similar appearance, involving stitching done
using a single thread (usually) on a contrasting counted thread fabric.
